Peace Outfitters Consignment Policy

Gear that gives back—to you, to others, and to the Earth.

At Peace Outfitters, we believe in making the outdoors more accessible, sustainable, and inclusive. Our consignment program is designed to extend the life of quality outdoor gear, reduce environmental impact, and lower the financial barriers to getting outside. By participating in our consignment program, you’re helping to build a more sustainable outdoor community.

What We Accept:

We gladly accept gently used, high-quality outdoor gear that is clean, fully functional, and in good condition. To ensure we offer the best selection for our customers, we prioritize newer items that reflect current styles, technology, and performance standards. We are unable to accept older or outdated gear. Examples of items we accept include:

  • Technical Apparel: Jackets, pants, base layers, fleece, rain gear, sun shirts and accessories. We currently only accept in season apparel items. 
  • Footwear: Hiking boots, trail runners, climbing shoes, sandals designed for outdoor activity.
  • Camping Gear: Sleeping bags, sleeping pads, backpacks, tents, camp stoves, headlamps, and similar equipment.

All items requiring batteries must be accompanied with batteries so the items can be tested. All items must be in good working order. All tents will be set up in shop to ensure the condition. Please wash and clean all clothing and gear before bringing it to Peace Outfitters. 

All items must be from reputable outdoor brands, such as (but not limited to):

Arc’teryx, Bedrock, Big Agnes, Birkenstock, Black Diamond, Camelbak, Chaco, Cotopaxi, Eagle Creek, ENO, Fjallraven, Gregory, Helly Hansen, Hoka, IceBreaker, Keen, Kelty, LaSportiva, Leki, Mammut, Marmot, Merrell, Mountain Hardwear, MSR, Nemo, Oboz, Osprey, Outdoor Research, Patagonia, Rab, Royal Robbins, Salomon, Sherpa, Sorel, Smartwool, Teva, The North Face, Topo Designs, Therm-a-rest.

What We Do Not Accept:

To maintain the quality and integrity of our selection, we do not accept:

  • Items from fashion-focused brands such as Old Navy, GAP, H&M, Calvin Klein, etc.
  • Items with stains, rips, excessive wear, broken components, or missing parts
  • Safety gear (e.g., climbing equipment, helmets, PFD) due to liability concerns
  • Ski gear and snowboards
  • Roof Rack Systems
  • Bikes
  • Fishing Gear
  • Personal items (e.g., water bottles, hydration bladders, socks, underwear/bras)

How It Works:

1) Drop-Off
Bring your clean, outdoor-ready items to Peace Outfitters during store hours. You’ll fill out a brief consignment agreement, and we’ll evaluate your gear for eligibility. We will review your items within three business days.

2) Pricing
Peace Outfitters will price consigned items based on condition, brand, and current market demand. If you prefer to set your own price, please indicate your desired price on the consignment form.

Please note: we do not list any items above 70% of the original retail price (MSRP).

By consigning with Peace Outfitters, you're choosing a convenient, hassle-free way to sell your gently used gear. If you feel your item requires a higher listing price, we encourage you to explore alternative platforms such as Facebook Marketplace.

3) Consignment Term
Items are consigned for 120 days.

    • If your item sells, you receive 60% of the final sale price as store credit or 50% in check. If you choose to donate your proceeds to one of our non-profit partners, 50% of the final sales price will be donated.
    • Items that have not sold within 45 days, will be automatically marked down 15%.
    • Items that don’t sell after 120 days,  may be picked up or you can choose to donate it to a local nonprofit partner.

4) Payouts

  1. We payout by the 10th of the following month and email you when you have credit to spend or a check to pick up.

Your payout will be calculated on the final sale price. 

Example: You bring in a backpack and agree to price at $50.00. That backpack does not sell within 45 days. On day 45 the backpack price is reduced 15% to $42.50. The backpack ends up being sold at the discounted $42.50. If you elected the credit option, you will receive 60% of the $42.50 as a store credit which is $25.50. If you elected the cash option, you will receive 50% of the $42.50 as a check which is $21.25. 

Donation of Payout

If you would like to donate your consignment proceeds to one of our partnered local non-profits, please indicate that on your consignment agreement form. 50% of the final sales prices will be donated. We partner with the following local non-profits. 

  1. Grand Canyon Youth
  2. Arizona Trail Association Gear Girls
  3. Grand Canyon Trust

5) Sustainability Commitment

Items left unclaimed after the consignment period may be donated or recycled to support our mission of reducing waste and keeping gear in use.
