Flagstaff Ski Rentals: Peace Outfitters
It’s Ski Season in Flagstaff! Snow is in the forecast, Snowbowl’s slopes are open and there’s plenty of cold in the air. If you like to ski and you’re debating on renting skis, get ready for all you need to know.
Should I Rent Skis or Buy Skis?
We recommend ski rentals for a few scenarios:
- You are testing out skiing for the first time! If you’ve been a snowboarder in the past and want to try out skiing or this is your first time on the slopes, we recommend renting your ski gear. It’s nice to test out a few different brands of boots and skis or test out the sport before committing to purchasing your own set of skis.
- You’re from out of town. If you travel to Flagstaff from the valley, or even farther, it can be a hassle and expensive to travel with skis. Renting will save you a lot of time and effort.
- You have kids! Ski Rentals are perfect for kids who likely won’t fit in the same ski boots from year to year. Peace Outfitters has a wide range of kid’s skis.Â
- You like skiing, but not enough to invest in your own gear. Let’s be honest, even with a great deal, a new pair of skis, bindings, and boots can be upwards of $1,000. If you like to ski, but don’t want to spend the money, a normal ski rental from Peace Outfitters is only $24.99.Â
- You want your own gear, but you’re waiting for end of season deals. The end of the ski season can be a great time to look for used gear at SMR, or purchase gear elsewhere! If you want to do one more season of rentals before scanning for sales, go ahead and rent.
We recommend buying your own skis for the following reasons:
- If you’ve been testing out skiing and realize it’s the best thing ever, and you’ll likely spend plenty of time on the mountain over the next few years, it’s time to think about buying! In which case, you likely are already looking for gear.
